More Tall Orders on Teesside for High Rise Experts
Darlington-based Stone Technical Services has fought off competition from international companies to secure more work at a prestigious industrial site on Teesside.
Stone has been awarded the contract to carry out annual surveys on the boil-house chimney stack and the utility stacks at INEOS Plant Utilities.
Stone beat off competition to secure the contract, worth in the region of £25,000 to the company, thanks to its experience and knowledge of the complex location. Last year Stone was appointed as the site contractor at the AOGO plant at Seal Sands, near Billingham and completed a chimney shutdown to carry out inspection works as well as providing specialist access and a survey on the site, which is owned by INEOS.
Stone Technical Services is a UK leader in the field of high level maintenance, safety systems and lightning conductor installation.
The company works extensively with industrial companies such as Cummins, BASF and BAE Systems as well as organisations such as English Heritage and the National Trust.
Stone, which employs 21 people at its newly opened Darlington headquarters on Kellaw Road, also has offices in Pinner, Middlesex.
The company celebrated ten years in business in 2008 and, as well as offering all aspects of high level maintenance and lightning conductor installation, also specialises in steeplejack services and the restoration of churches and historic buildings, as well as services related to industrial steeplejacks.
More jobs are planned for 2009 as Stone hopes to open regional offices to handle the growing number of contracts around the UK.
Dave Stone, who runs the company with his brother Grahame, said: “There is a lot of competition in the marketplace at the moment as companies from around Europe compete for fewer contracts. Thankfully our reputation within industrial companies means that we are well placed to continually secure vital deals to help our business grow.
“Our team’s thorough knowledge of the INEOS area and past experience of working at the site meant that we were ahead of our competition and we’re delighted to be carrying out more work on Teesside.”
